Adlib have finished the first of a series of training workshops aimed at exposing young students and adults to the working world of touring production.
With the touring season in full motion, Adlib Audio have taken some time out to run a series of training workshops aimed at exposing young students and adults to the real life situations faced by the world of touring productions.
The 'touring production' title covers a wide range of employment opportunities with Adlib focusing on the sound, lighting and visual aspect.

Adlib have been providing tour solutions to many artists over the last 25 years and fortunately two of Adlib's most decorated engineers and directors, Andy Dockerty and Dave Kay, were on-hand to provide students with the opportunity to field some questions and get involved.
Dave Kay, spoke about the event in a positive manner:
“With these training days, we aim to show young students and adults a real life working environment, one that is presented in a more accurate fashion to the type of situations found out on the road.”
Students were given the opportunity to assist Adlib staff with the setting up and operation of sound, lighting and stage equipment. This was followed by a run-down of the operational elements by Adlib Founder, Andy Dockerty.
“While we respect the work done by the education sector to a certain extent, we do notice a gap in the skill levels when we first have students arrive. Prolonged practical experience gives students the opportunity to apply fundamental theory as well as build upon existing skills.
Practical experience offers students the opportunity to build skills and a knowledge base that are used universally by a wide range of industry professionals, which will translate in a wide range of production environments including bar/club venues, radio and television studios, corporate events, theatres and festivals.”
